Case study: Media Wall Fire
For this project, the customer approached us with a clear goal: a built-in media wall that would completely transform the feel of their lounge.
Wanting more than just a TV on the wall and a fire beneath, we sought to create a purpose-built, proportionate media centre.
Understanding what you want is always where our process begins. Before we install any fire or build a structure, we carry out a full survey to assess the room, discuss how the customer uses the space day to day, and ensure the final design will work practically and visually.
Taking this time at the start means we’re better equipped to design a media wall that’s genuinely bespoke to the home, rather than something off the shelf.
We’ll also guide the customer through fires in our showroom, where we have one of the largest live displays of media wall electric fires in the country.
Leading Brands
We are dedicated to ensuring that our products are sourced from all the leading manufacturers in the UK and Europe. All the fires we sell come with full Manufacturers Guarantees.
Custom media wall
With the fire selected, we designed the full-custom media wall around it. Our team created a stud framework to house the electric fire at the perfect visual height, with a dedicated recessed section above for the customer’s TV. This way, both elements sit flush and read as one complete installation, as opposed to two separate items.
We also allowed for cable management and any AV boxes within the structure so that, once boarded and finished, all wiring disappears inside the wall.
With a made-to-measure wall from the Fireplace Warehouse, you can expect the built-in look you’d normally associate with a high-end new build, because that’s precisely what we deliver.
Rather than forcing the room to adapt to the design, we can adapt the design around the room.
Installation
Once the specification was agreed, our installation team carried out the full build. We supply and fit, which means the customer doesn’t need to juggle multiple trades – we handle the fireplace, the framework, the TV recess integration, and the finishing.
The first step is to construct the false chimney breast/media wall structure in studwork, precisely sized to the electric fire. The fire is installed into the opening, and all services are run neatly within the frame.
After the internal work is complete, the wall is boarded, filled and prepared for the final stage which is the plastering so that, visually, it looks like it has always belonged in the room.
The end result
Thanks to our team’s help, the customer now has a single, streamlined centrepiece that eliminates the need for separate TV units, brackets, storage furniture, and freestanding fires.
Most importantly, it feels personal. Every cut-out, line and proportion was created around their room and their kit. That’s what we do at The Fireplace Warehouse, and it’s exactly what we can do for you.
